Songs and Scripts . . .
Songs and Scripts . . .
At JGDATA we use lots of songs in our sessions, usually with movements too. Singing is a great way to learn and remember words, parts of dialogue, speeches, in fact anything can be remembered with a tune or rhyme added to it.
Scripts are also an important part of an actor’s life and remembering what to say, when and how to say it, are all skills we teach in our sessions. Scripts are usually used more with the older students as younger actors work better form improvising and making up dialogue as they go. However, this method of improvising speech is used with all groups, even the adults. It’s a great way for young actors to develop character, build knowledge of pace within a piece and ultimately allows them to become creative with their own language. JGDATA also encourage self created scripts and often ask students to work on a scene to generate a narrative which can then be adapted and developed into a script, which can then be rehearsed and performed. |
