History and Literacy
.
This show is has been written by John Giller, (who has been teaching, writing and directing drama and theatre productions for over 25 years and who also writes, directs and stars in shows in West Norfolk. CLICK HERE for news items.) This show centres around the main character Katherine. A young girl in her twenties, working in Mrs Jenkin’s Café, in the middle on London during the Second World War. Our story is set during one night of bombing, when Katherine is about to shut up shop for the night and head for the Anderson shelter, however a gentleman appears at the door of the café and in that one evening things will never be the same again. Lasting 40 minutes (Approx) this is a story of both worry and hope, but ultimately rejoice. (We do have a happy ending in this show.) This show has been created to be educational, entertaining and inspiring for children in upper Key Stage 2. (Years 5 and 6) Performed by the highly skilled actors of the award winning Purple Dreams Productions. |
NB. This show does have loud sound effects which may make pupils jump.
